Baghdad, 11 October / October (Rn) – An expert in the Iraqi law on Tuesday, the request of some members of the House of Representatives to cancel the holiday Legislative Council and to resume its sessions reflects a lack of awareness of the items of the Iraqi Constitution, stating that the cancellation of the holiday require an amendment to Article 57 of the identified dates of session and holidays.

The Council of the Iraqi Parliament legislative holiday extends for 40 day according to the decision of the House of Representatives Muhammad Khaldi in an interview with Kurdistan News Agency (Rn) earlier in the week.

According to the article (57) of the Iraqi constitution that “the House of Representatives session of the annual two legislative seasons, running for eight months, determines how the rules of procedure of convening, it does not end the separation, which was convened by the budget only after approval.”

And student members of the House of Representatives representing the various political blocs to cancel the holiday and use them in the legislative adoption of several laws broken by which they say affect the lives of citizens.

He said the legal expert Tareq Harb told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), “Some members of the House of Representatives, which called for the cancellation of the holiday Legislative Council is familiar with the Iraqi constitution, which approved the granting of legislative recess of the Council in each chapter.”
