Baghdad, January 12 (Rn) – A source in the Iraqi Council of Ministers announced the appointment of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, his son, the director of his private office, indicating that the son of al-Maliki is working to make changes to the administrative staff of the Council of Ministers.

The source, who preferred anonymity, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki appointed his son Ahmed as director of his own office shared with Riad al-Moussawi.” (more…)

Iraq is now a member of the world’s largest corporate responsibility pact, the UN Global Pact.

Signatories to the agreement include 135 countries, more than 6,000 companies, and about 3,000 non-governmental organisations from around the world.

“Iraq’s membership in the agreement will give it the chance to verify the credibility, transparency, and track record of the companies that are signatories to the pact, based on grounds and criteria that are transparent and accepted locally and internationally,” secretary-general of the Iraqi cabinet Ali al-Allaq said at a press conference Saturday (October 15th). BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Kuwait’s Oil Minister, Mohammed al-Buseiry, has strongly denied Iraqi media reports that its Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Mohammed al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Subah, had granted gifts and cash for Iraqi officials to close eyes towards the building of Mabarak Port, in difference between both countries, according to the Kuwaiti KUNA News Agency on Saturday.

“I strongly deny such reports that were published and then denied, in a statement to the Iraqi media, by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Baghdad, Ali al-Mu’min,” KUNA quoted Buseiry, the official spokesman for the Kuwaiti government as saying.

Baghdad, September 9 / September (Rn) – The Energy Commission in the Iraqi Council of Ministers on Friday, will leave them a plan to raise oil production to 2.9 million barrels per day from about 2.4 million barrels per day currently before the end of this year.

The spokesman said the media on behalf of the Faisal Abdullah, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “Iraq is planning to raise oil production to 2.0009 million barrels per day in 2011.”

He pointed out that “Iraq currently produces about 2.34 million barrels per day, and was produced in 2006 about 1.955 million barrels a day.”

Baghdad, September 6 / September (Rn) – A new oil contracts signed by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil companies with global controversy in Iraq, which is trying to rebuild its infrastructure through imports, said a legal expert to the possibility of canceling the contracts under the dome of the House of Representatives.

Baghdad, September 5 / September (Rn) – An adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki for Legal Affairs, on Monday, said the Cabinet did not say until now no date to decide its position on the port Mubarak of Kuwait, as announced Iraqi Council of Representatives, for his seriousness about resolving the issue of the port of the controversial in the coming days.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Leader of al-Iraqiya Bloc, Talal al-Zubae, has said on Saturday that the current Culture Minister in the Iraqi Cabinet was the most likely candidate to occupy the vacant Defense Minister’s post, confirming that 70 percent of al-Iraqiya, the Kurdistan Alliance and the National Alliance’s Legislatures support Zubae’s nomination for the post.

“Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had rejected the 4 al-Iraqiya candidates for the Defense Minister’s post, and I see that signs are pointing out to Saadoun al-Duleimy as being the most accepted candidates inside al-Iraqiya Bloc.

Legal representative Iraqi cabinet calls for speeding up an internal confirmation of the order

Baghdad, June 16 (Rn) – A member of the Legal Committee of the House of Representatives of Iraq, Thursday, the committee demanded that the Cabinet is to accelerate the adoption of rules of procedure regulating the work of ministries and governmental bodies in the next phase.

Minister of Finance:’ll put pressure on the Council of Ministers, Hasib citizens to government debt

Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi that he will be asked to extinguish the debt from the government on the Iraqis, which is for electricity, real estate and agricultural bank.

Al-Issawi stating that he would ask the Council of Ministers and in person to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to extinguish the debt claimed by the Iraqi government, which will reach a whole to 900 billion Iraqi dinars.
