According to the official website of the Central Bank of Iraq, there are seven state-owned banks in the country and 32 banks waged, and 15 foreign banks, but analysts say there is a section of government banks – especially Rafidain and Rasheed – controls 90% of the banking business. Baghdad, November 7 (Rn) – The Central Bank of Iraq, the Rafidain and Rasheed did not enter the world market because of their reliance on outdated administrative systems.

The deputy governor of the Central Bank of the appearance of Mohammed Saleh told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Rafidain and Rasheed were not able to enter the banking market in the world because of the reliance on marginally financial management systems old.”

He added that “the Rafidain and Rasheed dominate the cash rate of up to 86%, but the administrative bureaucracy impede the development of their banking.” (more…)

The International Finance Corporation have called the central bank yesterday to the opening of branches in all governorates of Iraq to take control of monetary policy and maintaining the balance with fiscal policy.

The governor of the Central Bank of the appearance of Mohammed Saleh told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “there is no need to open branches of the Central Bank of Iraq in Iraq’s provinces,” .. noting that “at the bank branches in Basra, Mosul, and are sufficient to maintain a balance between monetary policy and financial.” (more…)

A senior official at the IFC investment arm of the World Bank yesterday it aims to pump about $ 800 million, mostly in the energy and banks in Iraq over the next three years to help support development in the private sector.

IFC considers that the financial performance and bureaucracy behind impede development in Iraq 

Beirut , a senior official at the IFC, the investment arm of the World Bank, on Wednesday, the Foundation aims to pump about $ 800 million, mostly in the energy and banks in Iraq over the next three years, stressing that one of the biggest obstacles in the way of development in Iraq is bureaucracy and the poor performance of the financial sector.

The Vice-President of the Foundation Rashad Chaldean in a press statement, “It will be allocated among the 300 000 500 million from the Foundation’s capital projects for the collection of the gas being burned now in the oil fields,” adding that “what we aspire to over three years is to provide financing of about $ 800 million. ” (more…)
