Baghdad, April 7 (AKnews) – The economic commission in the Iraqi parliament proposed on Thursday merging the Ministries of Trade and Industry to support the Iraqi economy through improving the local production and enhance Iraq’s abilities infront of the economically developed countries.

Ahmed al-Alwani, Chairman of the Committee told AKnews that the integration of the ministries is done in all international economically and commercially developed countries.

The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki didn’t rule out in a statement issued at the end of last March merging some ministries if that was necessary.

“The Economic Commission also proposes the formation of a ministry concerned in the distribution of card items.”

The parliamentary Economic Committee received 16 economic laws from the former Economic Commission.

The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki confirmed while he was hosted by the parliament that old problems and laws hinder the improvement of the country’s economy.

The parliament did not legislate until now except two laws that are the law of the Vice-President of the Republic and the general budget of the state although it held so far more than 50 sessions.
