WAM Kuwait, May 1st, 2012 (WAM) — Kuwait Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has stressed that his visit to Iraq was “an important step” that would serve bilateral relations and region as a whole.

Sheikh Sabah, also Minister of state for Cabinet Affairs, said he signed, last night, the minute of the Kuwait-Iraq commission meeting which paved way for ironing out outstanding issues. (more…)

GENEVA, May 1 (KUNA) — Kuwait on Tuesday “stressed need” for Iraq’s continuing regular deposits in the UN war compensation fund in line with relevant international resolutions.

Kuwait stressed the need for continuation of regular deposits in the Compensation Fund, as provided for in UN Security Council Resolution 1956 (2010), of five percent of the proceeds from all export sales of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas of Iraq; as well as five percent of the value of any non-monetary payments of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas, said Chairman of the Public Authority for Assessment of Compensation for Damages Resulting from the Iraqi Aggression. Iraq and Kuwait signed two agreements the culmination of talks the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Higher Committee, which ended late in the evening the first Sunday, the first agreement included the formation of a joint committee for bilateral cooperation in organizing the second navigation in the port of Khor Abdullah of Iraq.

Arrived Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah to the country on the first Sunday as president of his country’s delegation at the meeting of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Higher Committee agreed on the establishment in January of last year and held its first meeting in Kuwait in March 2 011. Baghdad (AIN) — Kuwait Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said on Monday his just-concluded visit to Iraq was “an important step” that would serve bilateral relations and region as a whole.

Sheikh Sabah, also Minister of state for Cabinet Affairs, said he signed, last night, the minute of the Kuwait-Iraq commission meeting which paved way for ironing out outstanding issues. In an open discussion at the conclusion of the 9th Arab Media Forum, Sheikh Sabah said there was a clear understanding between Kuwait and Iraq over all issues discussed during the commission’s meetings. Erbil, May 1 / May (Rn) – The Iraqi deputy prime minister, said Tuesday that efforts will continue to hold the meeting with the participation of all national political leaders to resolve the current political crisis in the country, pointing out that these tend to calm the crisis and the solution.

According to Rose Nuri Shaways told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), that “the current political crisis in Iraq is making toward calm and the solution is Misb in the public interest of the country,” pointing out that “the current situation in Iraq requires more effort to find a solution to it and to achieve stability.” (more…)

Karbala (AIN) –The Kuwaiti government announced that the Kuwaiti Prime Minister will visit Iraq t the end of 2012 to follow up with the execution of the items of the associative Iraqi-Kuwaiti Committee.

The Kuwaiti ambassador to Iraq, Ali al-Muamin, stated in a press conference in Kerbela province “The Kuwaiti PM, Jabber al-Mubarak al-Sabah, will visit Baghdad this year to follow up the performance of the associative Committee about some pending issues between the two countries.” (more…)

KARBALA, May 1 (AKnews) – The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will visit Iraq by the end of this year to discuss the ongoing issues between the two countries, said Kuwait’s ambassador to Baghdad.

Ali al-Mo’men’s announcement was made during a press conference yesterday in Karbala. Mo’men said: “The Kuwaiti government will work to improve the relations with Iraq and restore them to the era before 1980 when Iraqis entered Kuwait without visas.” (more…)
