Iraqi parliament set the first week of September as the date for a vote on the election law

A source familiar with the Iraqi Council of Representatives, on Thursday, that the council ended the discussion of the law of the parliamentary elections, noting that the first week of the month of September next will vote on the law.

The source said, “obelisk” that “the Iraqi Council of Representatives ended the day at its meeting of 14 of the last legislative term, headed by Osama Najafi and the presence of 200 deputies” to discuss the vote on the parliamentary election law. “

The source confirmed that “Najafi has identified the first week of the month of September as a date to vote on the election law.”

Nujaifi said at a specified date “that the time has become narrow.”

Mentions that some political blocs, have submitted proposals for a law to House of Representatives election, and another to turn the study for submission to the Council, with a parliamentary committee headed by House Speaker Osama Najafi and post blocs in the Council, the number of election law, amid disagreements over the system of law which divides Iraq between the Department of election of one or multiple circuits, or make the list closed or open, in addition to the inclusion of religious minorities seats within the quota system.
