Alfalh: Council strategic policies will remain a consultant, even if passed by the House of Representatives

Deputy from the coalition of state law that “the National Council for the strategic policy will be a consultant and senior executive is not according to the recent agreement between the political blocs, even if was passed by the House of Representatives.”

He said MP Ali Alfalh told all of Iraq [where] on Thursday that “the National Council for the strategic policy of the Supreme agreed upon in the paper Erbil will remain an advisory board and not executive, and this is what was agreed upon at a meeting of political blocs, the last in the headquarters of the Republic.”

He noted that the “Political Council will remain within the context of which provide advice to the government even if it was discussed and passed in the House and its decisions will be binding in access to 80% of the votes of the members of the Council itself, and that otherwise would be contrary to the terms of the Constitution.”

The Iraqi List, has announced that the political blocs agreed at its last meeting at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic may be the decisions of the National Council for the strategic policy binding on the government after a vote in the House of Representatives.

Noteworthy that the political blocs have agreed last November in the initiative on a number of points, including the commitment to the Constitution, and the achievement of harmony and balance, and end the work of the accountability and justice, and activation of national reconciliation and the formation of a government of national partnership.

The agreement within the Initiative Barzani, which resulted in the formation of the government, given the position of prime minister of the National Alliance and the formation of a new council called the “National Council for strategic policy” shall be vested in his list of Iraq, specifically Iyad Allawi, who decided earlier abandonment of the position.
