Iraq does not rule out extending the work of the parliament and confirm: blocs agreed by the 85% to pass the election law

Confirmed the Iraqi List, on Sunday, that the political blocs could “extend the work of the current parliament” for a specific time period in case of failure to vote on the election law, as shown that the blocs agreed by 85% to pass the law, pointed out that tomorrow’s meeting could see the law passed.

The MP said the Iraqi List, Alaa Makki said in an interview to (Presse term), “The option to extend the work of the House of Representatives by the political blocs and very likely in the event of the failure of the political consensus and not to vote on the election law.”

BAGHDAD, Nov 21 — UN Secretary General’s special representative in Iraq Martin Kobler said Monday he would visit Kuwait soon to discuss outstanding issues between Baghdad and Kuwait.

At a news conference after a meeting with Iraqi senior Shiite cleric Ali Sistani in An-Najaf, Kobler said he “will visit the State of Kuwait next week to discuss Iraq’s exit from Chapter VII” of the UN Charter.

Iraq is yet to address sticky issues like the missing Kuwaiti and third country nationals, return of national archive, paying compensations and maintenance of border signs. (more…)

Baghdad, Nov. 6 (AKnews) – Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki urged on Sunday political blocs and Iraqi politicians for more determination and efforts to stand in the face of all challenges to keep the unity of Iraq.

Maliki’s call coincides with demands from local officials in some, mainly Sunni, Iraqi provinces to create their own federal regions following accusations that the Maliki government is repressing the Sunnis.

Maliki said in an address during a reception ceremony on the occasion of Eid al-Adha holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide, that “Iraq needs more determination and efforts to face all the challenges it faces, in particular, challenges to its national unity, unity of its lands and air spaces” (more…)

Baghdad, November 4 (Rn) – The Iraqi Ministry of Finance of the Federal, Friday, preparing a file from the end of the 2012 budget in line with the agreement with the International Monetary Fund and the amounts necessary for lifting the value of its investment.

The Deputy Minister Fadhil Nabi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Ministry of Finance has worked to raise the investment value amounts compared to the value value amounts Lot within the budget in 2012.”

Muslims praying during Eid

At the end of the Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Mecca), Muslims throughout the world celebrate the holiday of Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice). In 2011, Eid al-Adha will begin on or around November 6th, and will last for three days.

What does Eid al-Adha commemorate?

During the Hajj, Muslims remember and commemorate the trials and triumphs of the Prophet Abraham. The Qur’an describes Abraham as follows:

“Surely Abraham was an example, obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the polytheists. He was grateful for Our bounties. We chose him and guided him unto a right path. Baghdad, November 3 (Rn) – Iraqi Council of Representatives failed to hold an emergency session was scheduled on Thursday called for a block free of the Sadrist movement led by Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, for lack of quorum.

The Presidency of the Council of Representatives called for the convening of the special meeting today to discuss three main themes is that the federal budget, excluding the demands made by Sadr, the former government and the withdrawal of U.S. forces in addition to Turkish and Iranian shelling of border areas in the province of Kurdistan.

He said the head of the Liberal MP Bahaa al-Araji, a news conference in the House of Representatives: “We are sorry for the failure to meet the call made to the House of Representatives to attend the special meeting due to travel most of the members of the House of Representatives to perform Hajj, which led to lack of quorum.” (more…)

Markets are the Kurdistan Region during this period, a substantial rise in the prices of meat and livestock to receive the day of Eid al-Adha because of the popularity of buy to meet the need of Muslims to sacrifice.

He suggested a number of specialists causes rise in the prices of live animals like sheep as a result of increasing demand every year before Eid al-Adha, but rise during this year began early and doubled their prices and reached high levels.

Point concerned the movement of the market and trade in the province that Kurdish citizens used to face the rising prices of livestock in this time of year because of the increasing demand for sheep in the sacrifice of Eid is that prices for this year is unusual as it is witnessing a big increase.

Iraq Decides to review the budget of 2012 at the light of the observations of the International Monetary Fund

Baghdad, October 19 / October (Rn) – The economic adviser in the Iraqi government federal, Wednesday, the cabinet decided to review the draft budget in 2012 of the comments of the International Monetary Fund.

The chancellor said Salam al-Quraishi, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Iraqi government decided to review the draft budget in 2012 before approval of the Council of Ministers for evaluation, taking observations of the International Monetary Fund and in particular the increase in operating expenses, which amounted to 80%.”

Baghdad, Oct. 17 (AKnews) – The ongoing dispute between Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s State of Law Coalition (SLC) and former Prime Minister Ayyad Allawi’s Iraqiya List about the Erbil Agreement will most likely not be solved in the next couple of weeks.

Mohammed al-Khalidi, member of parliament and member of the Iraqi National Accord movement (INA), which Iraqiya List is a part of, said that the negotiations reached a “blocked end”.
